McDaniel to Retire as Executive Director of UI Foundation

Nancy McDaniel, executive director of the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc., has announced her retirement effective June 30, 2014.
“It has been a distinct honor and privilege to serve the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc. as its executive director and to work with our outstanding volunteers,” says McDaniel. “I am proud of the accomplishments we have made and the positive evolution of our organization. “
McDaniel has been with the University of Idaho and the foundation for 20 years in various capacities including serving as interim director of alumni relations and regional director of development, as well as managing director and executive director of the Foundation for the past eight years. Prior to returning to the University of Idaho, she was Interim Director and Associate Director of the Boise Art Museum.
“On behalf of the board of directors, we are extremely grateful for Nancy’s strong leadership skills and her passion about the university,” said chairman Laine Meyer, Los Altos, Calif. “She has led the foundation through many changes, challenges and positive outcomes to create a lasting legacy as we move forward.”
The University of Idaho Foundation, Inc. is the largest institutionally-related foundation in the state of Idaho at $259 million; $207 million in assets managed in the Consolidated Investment Trust (CIT); $17.7 million distributed last year to University scholarships and programs; $136 million in endowment earnings distributed since 1959; and an 11.3 percent total rate of return for the CIT (Based on Fiscal Year 2013).
A national search to fill the Executive Director position will be conducted in the coming months with information to be posted on the University of Idaho website at www.uidaho.edu.
