Leadership Change Announced in Enrollment Management

Thursday, October 24 2013

MOSCOW, Idaho – Steven Neiheisel, assistant vice president for enrollment management, will be leaving the University of Idaho at the end of the month. Neiheisel has accepted a position at Northern Michigan University as their vice president for enrollment and student services.

Jeffrey Dodge has agreed to take on interim leadership with the core directors in the enrollment management unit. He will begin his appointment Oct. 27, 2013.

“I appreciate his willingness to assume these additional responsibilities in the enrollment area—one that is of critical importance to the future of the University of Idaho,” said Katherine Aiken University of Idaho interim provost and executive vice president.

Congruently, Dodge will continue in his role as the associate dean for students and administration in the College of Law. He has successfully led enrollment initiatives to increase enrollment at a time when most law schools have witnessed a decline. Dodge joined the University of Idaho in May 2012.

“I am humbled to serve in this leadership role and look forward to working with our talented enrollment management team,” said Dodge. “Our degree programs have transformative impacts on the lives of students and their communities.”

Dodge received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California San Diego and a juris doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law. Before serving as an associate dean at the University of Idaho College of Law, he worked at Hofstra Law School as the assistant dean for global initiatives and multicultural affairs, assistant dean for administration and operations, and the director of alumni relations.

Dodge’s focus will be on maximizing fall 2014 enrollment and planning for 2015 recruitment.

“The University of Idaho and its graduates are essential to the state’s bright future,” said Dodge. “Harnessing the commitment and pride felt by Vandals, past and present, to the benefit of our admissions efforts is a priority during my tenure.”

The anticipated length of this interim role is expected to be through June 2014, coinciding with a national search for permanent leadership.
