Disability Support Services Oustanding Faculty Honorees
Wednesday, May 2 2012
Disability Support Services is proud to announce this year’s faculty who have received the DSS “Outstanding Faculty” award. Faculty are nominated by a student with disabilities who would like to recognize and thank faculty who have gone above and beyond what is expected in providing accommodations and services for them. Because of the willingness of these exceptional faculty members to do so, students with disabilities have the same opportunity as all students to show what they can do according to their ability, not their disability.
Congratulations and many thanks to the 2011-2012 DSS Outstanding Faculty. Listed below are a few selected comments from students, and the listing of faculty who received this year’s award:
“I have appreciated the instruction and especially his willingness to help and give extra time and assistance when I experienced problems due to illness. Because of that help, I was able to catch up, be successful in the classes and learn a considerable amount.”
“It is amazing when you have teachers that show they care about their students, and I believe this is a great positive learning environment to learn in. The instructor's compassion and understanding will always be appreciated.”
“Has gone the extra mile so I could learn about reforestation and native plants production from seeding to out planting.”
