Monday, September 21
The University of Idaho Sustainable Idaho Initiative (SSI) invites proposals for faculty or staff-led projects that support campus sustainability. SII will award up to $10,000 in grant funding in October for projects that contribute to overall knowledge, awareness and experience in sustainability practices at the university and in the communities in which we operate. Proposals may request up to $5,000 per project. The due date for all proposals is Friday, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m. P.T. The Request for Proposals is available on the Sustainable Idaho website at www.webs.uidaho.edu/envs/sustainability.htm.
Past projects have included construction of green roof on a section of the Student Union Building; a wetland revitalization project; construction of a hoop house at the student-run organic farm; recycling programs at the university's Coeur d’Alene and Idaho Falls centers; creation of a locally sourced whole foods program at the university Children’s Center; a university residence hall recycling program; and more.
