University of Idaho and Student Alumni Relations Board (SArb) are excited to have our Vandal families on campus. SArb is a student organization that partners with campus and community groups to offer events and programming that encourages students to have a positive and full university experience.

Schedule of Events

Friday, April 12

5-6:30 p.m. — Paint Night
Hays Hall Alumni Lounge 1212 Blake Ave.
Cost: Free for all students and parents.

Get ready to add a splash of color to Spring Parent and Family Weekend with our tumbler painting event! Join us in the Alumni Lounge for a fun-filled session where you can let your imagination run wild, creating unique designs on tumblers to share and cherish with your loved ones. Sign up.

Saturday, April 13

10 a.m. — Parents and Plants Session 1
Sixth Street Greenhouse
Cost: $20 per basket

Calling all plant enthusiasts! Join us for an enriching experience during Parent and Family Weekend as the Plant and Soil Science Club hosts a delightful session on potting plant baskets. RSVP not required; payment will be taken at the door. Cash, card and checks accepted. Sign up.

10 a.m. — Palouse Patchers 42nd Annual Quilt Show and Raffle
Latah County Fair Grounds
Cost: $5 per day, $3 for seniors over 65 and children. Raffle tickets $1 each.

Join the Palouse Patchers quilt guild at their annual Quilt Show! See over 200 locally made quilts and several challenge competitions. Visitors can spend some time admiring the quilts, shop with ten vendors for fabric, patterns and notions, and enjoy cookies and refreshments in the kitchen. The quilts are not for sale, but handmade items made by guild members will be offered in one of the booths. At door registration only, cash or check accepted.

10 a.m. — Starving Artists Sale
Idaho Student Union Building
Cost: Free to attend

Art and Design grad students are hosting an art sale! Students, faculty, staff and community members will be selling original arts and crafts.

11 a.m. — Walking Tour of the Arboretum
Meet at the North Gate by the University of Idaho Golf Course
Cost: Free to attend

Meet at the north gate next to the University of Idaho Golf Course for a walking tour of the university arboretum. This event will continue as planned unless we experience inclement weather.

11 a.m. — Cornhole Tournament
Theophilus Tower Lawn
Cost: $15 per team

Do you have what it takes to win the Spring Vandal Family Weekend Cornhole tournament? Join the Student Alumni Relations Board on the Tower Lawn to take on other families! Sign up.

11 a.m. — Mural Unveiling
Thomas Hammer in the VandalStore
Cost: Free to attend

Delphine Keim and her Studio Art 322 class painted an original mural at Thomas Hammer in the VandalStore. Join us to celebrate the official unveiling of this student-created work of art! Free limited-edition stickers of the mural will be available to attendees. You can support the art program by purchasing limited-edition prints of additional student mural designs and enter to win a print of the winning design we are celebrating!

Cost: $25 for three drink tokens or $15 for non-alcoholic beverages

Join the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences for their Annual Wine and Cheese Tasting event! Proceeds from the event support CALS student club activities. Sign up.

2-5 p.m. — Friendship Bracelet Making
Hays Hall Alumni Lounge 1212 Blake Ave.
Cost: Free to attend

Experience the joy of crafting a connection at Parent and Family Weekend with the Student Alumni Relations Board's friendship bracelet making event! Join us as we thread together memories and laughter, creating timeless tokens of love and friendship to cherish for years to come. Sign up.

5:30-8:30 p.m. — Dinner and Entertainment with NYNY Dueling Pianos
International Ballroom, Bruce Pitman Center
Cost: $40 per person

Doors will open at 5 p.m., program and dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Dueling Pianos performance starting at 6:30 p.m. Sign up.


More Family Fun

The events below are available to Vandals all weekend long!

Student Rec Center Climbing Center

Parents and family members can access the Student Rec Center (only those over the age of 18) or Climbing Center (youth are welcome when accompanied by an adult) with their U of I student for free during Parent and Family Weekend, April 12-14. Free gear rental at the Climbing Center is included. Visit the Info Desk in the Student Rec Center for access.

The Ultimate Mini Golf Challenge

We’re having a different kind of “family feud” around here this Parent and Family Weekend! Join the fun from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. April 12-14 at Airway Hills Mini Golf in Pullman. Your group can compete against other families for the chance to win cool Vandal prizes! Tickets are $20 per person, no tee time required.

Vandal Family Golf Simulator Tournament

Join other U of I groups and families from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. April 12-14 at Airway Hills Mini Golf in Pullman to take on the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course, simulator style! Six players max per simulator, $50 per hour. Appetizers and drinks will be available for purchase. Please call the shop to reserve a simulator.
