To become a graduate student, you must be admitted to the UI College
of Graduate Studies and to the Mathematics Department itself. To find
out more about gaining admission to the College of Graduate Studies,
Please visit the Graduate
Admissions website. Here’s what you’ll need:
1. Application form
2. Official TOEFL
score (international applicants only) of at least 525
3. Official transcripts for all undergraduate and
graduate work
4. Application fee ($55 for domestic applicants, $60 for international applicants)
5. GRE (Graduate Record Exam) scores are not required, but can help
if you have them.
6. Three letters of reference from persons who know
enough about your academic abilities to evaluate your potential for
graduate studies.
7. One to two page Resume/Curriculum Vitae
8. One to two page Statement of Career Objectives.
All of this should be sent directly to the University of Idaho
Graduate Admissions Office:
(Mailing address: P.O. Box 444266,
Moscow, ID 83844-4266). Once they are satisfied, they forward everything
to the Mathematics Department and we evaluate you using this information.
We typically consider applicants for TA’s at the same time using
the same information if you fill out the TA
application form .
The
Graduate Admissions Office web site provides more information on the above.
Note: While Graduate Admissions has "priority deadlines"
for applications to receive full consideration, we do accept
applications throughout the year.
