Born in Borger, Texas, in 1938; raised in nearby Pampa, Texas. Graduated high school 1956. Served 4 years in the U.S.A.F., then went to several small colleges in Texas until transfer to the Univ. of Texas as a junior in 1961. Taught Byzantine, ancient and medieval history at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington, 1968-75.
Edited and published a monthly online bankruptcy newsletter concerning significant new cases in Idaho, Montana, and the 9th Circuit.
