Judge Joan Donoghue is from the International Court of Justice (the World Court), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations.
Before her election to the International Court of Justice, Judge Donoghue has had a distinguished career as a government lawyer serving as the Principal Deputy Legal Adviser in the State Department as well as the Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
