Tickets are not required and seating is first-come, first served, starting at 2:30 p.m.
Law degree candidates will gather at 2:15 pm at the Law School to line up and take a class picture in full regalia. After the class picture is taken, college staff will hand out a name card to each graduate. Candidates and faculty will proceed from there to the Kibbie Dome.
Immediately following the ceremony the College of Law will host a Celebratory Reception for law graduates, their guests, faculty, and staff. Light refreshments and photo opportunities will be available.

Don Burnett is a true son of Idaho who hails from Pocatello, Idaho. His career is a stellar example of what lawyers should aspire to achieve in terms of professional accomplishments, service, and commitment to the profession of law. Professor Burnett has served as an appellate judge, Tribal Judge, judicial clerk, practicing attorney, Army JAG officer (retiring as a Colonel in the Army Reserves), State Bar President, professor, dean of two law schools, and Interim President of the University of Idaho.
University of Idaho Alumni Hall of Fame
Linda Copple-Trout '77
Former Idaho Supreme Court Chief Justice Linda Copple-Trout ’73, ’77, the first female justice on the Idaho Supreme Court, was inducted into the Alumni Association Hall of Fame. She will be recognized during spring commencement in Moscow at a reception, Thursday, May 15, and at an induction luncheon, Friday, May 16.

Faculty Award of Legal Merit Recipient – Georgia Yuan
Georgia Yuan is a search consultant with ABG Search, LLC, a firm specializing in higher education and leadership coach who works with executives and leaders in education, government and non-profit organizations. She serves as a member of the National Commission on University and College Governance, which examines the preparedness of the governing bodies of higher education institutions to address the challenges confronting higher education.
Sheldon Vincenti Award for Exemplary Service – John R. Stegner
John R. Stegner is District Judge in Idaho’s Second Judicial District with chambers in Moscow, Idaho. He was appointed to the bench in 1996, was elected to the position in 1998, and re-elected in 2002, 2006, and 2010. He served as the Administrative District Judge for the Second District from 2002 to 2005, and again in 2012.

Peter E. Heiser Award for Excellence in Teaching – Awarded at ceremony
