CLASS OF 2004

Jeffrey McKinnie

Los Angeles, California
B.A., California State University, Northridge
Solo Practioner (Boise, Idaho)

"My interest in the law was sparked by my career in journalism. As a newspaper reporter, I was in constant communication with law enforcement administrators, attorneys, and judges.  Eventually, I became fascinated with the legal world. I’ve always loved challenges,
so I knew law school was for me.

"I came to Idaho from Los Angeles where I worked as a news associate for CBS television. I’ve always considered myself a big city guy, but after a few camping trips in some of Idaho’s backcountry, I discovered that there actually was life outside of the city. The summer after my
first year of law school, I landed a paid internship with a local attorney. I got a chance to learn all of the intricacies of lawyering from a seasoned trial attorney. The experience was invaluable. In addition to the Multicultural Law Student Organization, I was a member of the student chapter of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association."
