How many students attend the University of Idaho?
Currently the University of Idaho Moscow campus is home to around 11,700 undergraduate students and about 1,700 graduate students. The College of Law has about 350 students.
What is the University of Idaho campus like?
The University campus is considered by many to be the residential campus of choice in the West. With it's ivy covered brick buildings, beautiful trees and hundreds of acres of green lawn, the University has the look and feel of a traditional college campus, yet continues to be on the cutting edge of technology, research and teaching. Students enjoy short walks to classes, recreational activities, a wide variety of on-campus living options, and a safe and secure environment.
What is Moscow like?
Moscow, Idaho is a friendly college town of about 24,000 residents. It is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Palouse region of North Central Idaho. Moscow surrounds the University of Idaho campus and most stores and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Additional opportunities are available in Pullman, Washington, another "college town" of similar size only 8 miles away and home to Washington State University.
What is there to do on campus and in Moscow?
The University of Idaho is a very active residential campus. With intramural sports, outdoor activities, student clubs, varsity games, an 18-hole golf course, a newly constructed student recreation center, and many social events to choose from, there is always something to be involved in on campus. Students enjoy concerts, films, and various performing arts and cultural events on campus year-round. The town of Moscow is also a great place to go out to eat, catch a movie, do some shopping, or take advantage of the many arts and cultural events that are planned each year.

Do I need to bring a car?
Not necessarily. Although having a car would be a tremendous convenience for getting to school during the winter or traveling home for weekend trips, it's very easy to get around Moscow on foot or on bike. Wheatland Express provides free bus transportation for students throughout the UI Campus and Moscow, as well as through Pullman and the Washington State University campus. If you do bring a car, you can purchase campus parking permits through Parking and Transportation Services.
Is there an airport close to Moscow?
Students have three options in the region for air travel:
- Students can fly into the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport on Alaska/Horizon Airlines.
- Students may also fly into the Lewiston Airport, 30 minutes south of Moscow, which is serviced by Alaska/Horizon Airlines and Delta Airlines.
- The majority of students choose to fly into the Spokane International Airport, in Spokane, WA, about 1.5 hours northwest of Moscow.
