Effective Arbitration

Arbitration today is most commonly used for the resolution of commercial disputes, and sometimes used to enforce credit obligations. It is also used to resolve other types of disputes, such as labor disputes, consumer disputes or family disputes, and for the resolution of certain disputes between states and between investors and states.

About the Instructor:
Merlyn Clark has been an adjunct Professor of Negotiation and Settlement Advocacy, The Straus Institute For Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law, June 2000, adjunct instructor of Mediation Advocacy Skills at University of Idaho College of Law, 2002, adjunct instructor of Effective Advocacy in Arbitration, The Northwest Institute For Dispute Resolution, University of Idaho College of Law, 2000 and 2002, and instructor of evidence and civil procedure for the Idaho Judiciary at new Judges Orientation, Magistrate Judges Institute, and District Judges Institute annually since 1992.
Clark is a certified Professional Mediator since 1995 and a member of the National Rosters of Commercial Arbitrators and Mediators and Employment Arbitrators and Mediators of the American Arbitration Association and Member, National Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators of the National Arbitration Forum. He has extensive civil litigation and appellate practice in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies.
