Externships
The externship program bridges the gap between theory and practice. Advanced law students have opportunities to work closely with practicing professionals in public agencies or nonprofit organizations; or for state and federal judges. They gain valuable practical experience while earning credit toward graduation.
Through externships, students:
- Study the practice of law and public policy.
- Develop the ability to perform specific legal tasks.
- Enhance their capacity for analysis and critical reflection.
- Learn to examine legal doctrines and practices in the context of actual social problems and concerns.
- Master self-directed learning.
