Judge J. Blaine Anderson Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Created by his family to honor the memory of longtime Idaho federal judge J. Blaine Anderson '49.

Bernice Bacharach College of Law Scholarship Endowment
Established to honor Bernice Bacharach '40, 42, a native of Lewiston, Idaho and one of the first women to practice law in the state of Idaho.  She was the first lawyer to clerk for the Idaho Supreme Court, and later moved to Wenatchee where she practiced for over forty years, most of which she was the only woman lawyer in a one hundred mile radius.  In 1997, Ms. Bacharach was presented the Award of Legal Merit by the College of Law.

Leland D. Beckman Foundation Law Scholarship Endowment
Funded by a gift from the Leland D. Beckman Foundation, this endowment funds a scholarship for the benefit of law students who graduated from high school in Eastern Idaho.

Sherman J. Bellwood Lectures Endowment
Established with a planned gift by Sherman J. Bellwood '38, longtime attorney and judge in Rupert, Idaho, to "enable the College of Law to invite and present persons learned in the law to lecture on legal subjects from time to time." The Bellwood Lectures have since hosted numerous distinguished speakers, such as multiple United States Supreme Court Justices, including current Chief Justice of the United States John G. Roberts, Jr.

Herbert A. Berman Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Established by his former students, this scholarship honors the memory of College of Law Professor Herbert A. Berman, who taught at the College of Law from 1952-1967.  He continued to teach as an emeritus professor after his retirement.

Laurence S. Bogert Memorial Lecture in Law and Business
This fund will support a regular lecture regarding the intersection of business and law.  It was established in honor of the longtime Pocatello lawyer by his son and Law Advisory Council emeritus member L. Michael Bogert '85.

Justice Alfred Budge Visiting Jurist Endowment
Created by the Honorable Hamer '36 and Jeanne Budge, in consultation with the Idaho Supreme Court, to support a visiting jurist program in honor of Judge Hamer Budge's father, Justice Alfred Budge, who served on the Idaho Supreme Court for over thirty years (1914-1948).  The endowment is intended to provide an education link between the Idhao judiciary and the College of Law by funding expenses related to enabling a judge to spend time in residence at the College of Law for scholarly, collaborative and teaching activities.

William H. Clagett Memorial Endowment
Established by Fred & Dorothy Clagett in memory of Fred's grandfather, William H. Clagett, who served as President of the Idaho Constitutional Convention.  The endowment provided support the publication of a biography of William H. Clagett, and later to research western U.S. legal history.  The endowment may also be used for renovation of the College of Law Library to house materials or conduct such research.

Robert H. Copple Memorial Law Endowment
Established to honor and remember Robert H. Copple '42 by his wife Helen.  Mr. Copple graduated first in his class in 1942 and, after returning from military service, joined what is now one of Idaho's oldest and most respected law firms (Davison, Copple, Copple, & Copple), where he would remain for his entire legal career.

John S. Cushman '65 Scholarship Endowment
Supports a scholarship created to honor and remember John H. Cushman by his wife Madeline Cushman and the Cushman family.

Charles H. Darling Law Scholarship Endowment
Supports the scholarship of the same name.  Created to honor the memory of Charles H. Darling by his friend and law school classmate A.J.G. Priest.

Burton F. "Humpy" Ellis '29, '33 and Dee H. Ellis Academic Excellence Endowment
The Ellis's created this endowment "in order to provide an edge of excellence in programs of the College of Law, primarily in the encouragement of significant research and publication by members of the faculty."  The endowment supports research stipends for College of Law faculty.  Mr. Ellis had a distinguished career as a military lawyer, including being chief trial counsel for the Malmedy Massacre war crimes tribunal during World War II, many records from which were left to the University of Idaho upon his death.

Paul Ennis '38, '40 Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Established in his memory by his wife, Verla, this fund supports scholarships for law students in financial need as well as those demonstrating scholastic excellence.  Paul B. Ennis had a long and distinguished career in Boise, including being a founder of one of Boise's largest, most prestigious firms, Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley LLP.

Felton Family Law Scholarship Endowment
The Felton family created this scholarship endowment upon the death of Judge Robert Felton '59 in recognition of "all the Feltons who graduated from the Unviersity of Idaho College of Law."  Other Feltons with law degrees from the College of Law include Judge Thomas H. Felton '37, Michael H. Felton '62, '65, Timothy L. Felton '74, '77 and Michael H. Felton, Jr. '87, '90.

William and Carolyn '39 Folz Scholarship Endowment Fund
Through an estate gift, William and Carolyn Folz created a generous endowment with the University of Idaho, which supports a full-ride scholarship to a law student, as well as scholarships to students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and College of Business and Economics.

Chester '51, '54 and Blanche Carrel Graham Scholarship Endowment
Chester Graham endowed this scholarship to honor the memory of his first wife and the encouragement she gave him while he persued his studies.

Judge Alfred C. Hagan '53 Memorial Law Endowment
Established to honor former U.S Bankruptcy Judge Alfred C. Hagan, a native of Moscow, Idaho, the endowment supports the College of Law's bankruptcy moot court team.

C. J. '48 and Janice O. '61 Hamilton Law School Endowment
The Hamiltons created this endowment to fund scholarships for financially deserving students, with a preference for students from Idaho's five northernmost counties.  Recognizing that a number of highly qualified, highly motivated persons who want to continue their education are hindered by lack of financial resources, their hope was that the scholarships made available through this endowment would provide the financial boost such students need to allow them to complete their legal education.

Peter E. Heiser, Jr., Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Supports the scholarship of the same name.  Created to honor the memory of Peter E. Heiser, former professor at the College of Law, by his father.  The annual student-selected award for faculty excellence is also named in honor of Heiser.

H.F.C. Scholarship
Created by Helen F. Casterlin '41 in honor of her husband, Erle H. Casterlin, to support scholarships in education and law at the University of Idaho.

Hopwood College of Law Endowment
Established by Dennis T. Hopwood '73 to provide financial support to students who serve summer internships with non-profit land trusts located in the Pacific Northwest or who demonstrate an interest in the study of land conservation law in the United States.

Idaho Law Review Endowment
The 1984-85 Board of Editors of the Idaho Law Review established this fund for the perpetual support of special projects and capital improvements for the Idaho Law Review, such as staff training, educational programs, and equipment.

Judge Faye C. Kennedy '67 Memorial Law Scholarship Endowment
To honor and remember Judge Faye C. Kennedy, her family and friends established this scholarship endowment.  The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to students, especially female students, who might not otherwise be able to attend law school and includes a preference for those interested in family law or public service.  Judge Kennedy was elected to the Washington State Court of Appeals in 1990, where she served until her passing in 2005 and was voted "Judge of the Year" by the King County Washington Women's Lawyers.

Langroise Law Scholarship Endowment
Created by William H. Langroise '21, '79 HON, influential Idaho attorney and philantrhopist, in memory of his wife, Vernette, and son Bill.  The Langroise Scholarship Endowment is the largest scholarship endowment at the College of Law.

College of Law Centennial Endowment
This unrestricted endowment was created for the benefit of the College of Law in commemoration of the University of Idaho's centennial in 1989.

MacLane Law Scholarship
Created by John F. MacLane, founding dean of the College of Law for support of the College.

Howard I. Manweiler '58 Memorial Law Scholarship
The Manweiler family created this endowment to honor the memory of Howard I. Manweiler, who practiced law in Boise for nearly 40 years, was past president of the Idaho State Bar, former College of Law Advisory Council member, and a College of Law Award of Legal Merit recipient.

Anton F., Katherine and Kathryn Ann '52 Mautz College of Law Scholarship Endowment
Created by Judge Kathryn Ann Mautz '52 in memory of her parents and in gratitude for her education at the College of Law.  Natives of Wallace, Idaho, Anton F. and Katherine later moved to Spokane where their daughter, who was the first woman elected to a judicial position in Eastern Washington, where she served 28 years as a Spokane County District Court judge. 

Judge Ray McNichols '50 Memorial Fund
Established to honor the memory of distinguished Senior United States District Judge Ray McNichols by his son, Lewiston attorney Michael E. McNichols '60, '63.  The fund supports the College of Law's intramural moot court competition named in honor of Judge McNichols.

Albert R. Menard, Jr., Law Scholarship Endowment
Created in honor of longtime dean of the College of Law Albert R. Menard, Jr. by his wife, Laura.  Dean Menard had a large hand in shaping the College of Law into what it has become today.  The College of Law building in Moscow is also named in recognition of his service.

L. Edward Miller '77 College of Law Scholarship Endowment
L. Edward Miller established this endowment, which supports a scholarship with a preference for a third-year student or a student who has shown interest in real estate property, land use or environmental laws and issues, which are the ares of his own law practice at the Boise law firm of Givens Pursley LLP.

Richard B. Minas '62, '64 Law Scholarship
Supports a scholarship in memory of Richard B. Minas '62, '64.

Anthony A. Nelson '61, '63 Scholarship
Supports a need-based scholarship created in his memory by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Nelson.

William J. '23 and Eva Jane '26 Nixon College of Law Endowment
Established by their sons, William W. '54, '56, Robert J. '53, and Richard L. Nixon in memory of their parents.  The endowment supports a scholarship for a second-year law student.

Philip and Jeanne Peterson Law Scholarship Endowment
Orignially the College of Law's general scholarship endowment fund, it was renamed in honor of longtime professor and attorney Philip E. Peterson and his wife Jeanne.

A. J. G. Priest '18, '21 Law Scholarship Endowment
Supports the scholarshp of the same name.  Created to honor the distinguished lawyer and law professor at the University of Virginia School of Law. 

Larry D. Ripley '60, '62 College of Law Scholarship Endowment
Established by Idaho Power Company in recognition of his long and distinguished service to that company.

John A. Rosholt '59, '64 Roundtable Endowment for Visiting Professionals
Created by John and Karen Rosholt for the purpose of "bringing professionals, not only lawyers and judges, but leaders in business, politics, religion, education, literature, intellectual property, technology, and other avocations" to the College of Law.  The Rosholt's intent was to provide a forum for students to learn from such leaders and to discuss career options and alternatives for those who earn law degrees.

Judge Harold L. Ryan '50 Law Scholarship Endowment
Established in memory of one of Idaho's most distinguished federal judges by his wife, Ann, to fund a law student scholarship.

Judge Charles '36 and Audrey Scoggin Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Created by Audrey in memory of her husband, Judge Scoggin, the endowment supports a scholarship with a preference for "students who are dedicated, diligent, and financially needy."

Allan G. Shepard Endowment
Established through an estate gift of Muriel Kirk, the widow of former Idaho Supreme Court Justice Allan G. Shepard, this endowment supports College of Law faculty through a distinguished professorship.

Frank A. Shrontz '54 College of Law Scholarship Endowment
A former CEO of The Boeing Company, Frank Shrontz established this endowment to support scholarships for students "who demostrate a history of overcoming personal, familial, or economic adversity to obtain their education" and who represent populations that are under-represented in law school.

J. Lael Simmons '27 Law School Endowment
June V. Simmons created this endowment in memory of her husband to create a scholarship for the perpetual benefit of College of Law students.  Mr. Simmons practiced law in Seattle, Washington for over 50 years.

Nick Speropulos '55, '60 Memorial Scholarship Endowment
Established by friends and classmates William L. Nungester '60 and Judge William A. Stellmon '59, '60 in memory of Nick Peropulos.  Although he passed away much too soon, he had already distinguished himself in many ways, graduating second in his law school class, practicing with future federal judge Harold L. Ryan, and serving as a member of the Idaho State Bar Board of Commissioners.

Willis E. Sullivan, Sr., Memorial College of Law Scholarship
A third-generation Idaho lawyer (his grandfather, Isaac N. Sullivan was the first chief justice of the Idaho Supreme Court), Mr. Sullivan had a long and distinguished career, including being awarded the Idaho State Bar Association's first "Distinguished Lawyer Award" in 1983.  The endowment was established by the Sullivan family and the Wade A. Thomas '65 family.

Randall Wallis  Law Scholarship Endowment
Supports a scholarship in memory of longtime Boise attorney Randall Wallis '29, '34 created by his wife, Bonnie Wallis.

George T. Warren Law Scholarship
Created by George T. Warren '17 for the benefit of deserving students at the College of Law.

Lucinda Weiss College of Law Fund

Whittenberger Foundation/Dean E. Miller '49 Law Library Memorial Endowment
Established by the Whittenberger Foundation of Caldwell, Idaho in memory of Dean E. Miller for the purpose of acquiring books for the College of Law library.

James E. Wilson Memorial Endowment Fund
Established by College of Law professor and longtime Moscow attorney Weldon Schimke '31 to honor the memory of his late wife, Margaret, and her father, his good friend James E. Wilson.  This endowment supports faculty excellence through the Margaret Wilson Schimke Distinguished Professor of Law, Weldon Schimke Distinguished Professor of Law and James E. Wilson Distinguished Professor of Law.
