Reed Larsen is a partner in the Pocatello firm Cooper & Larsen. He grew up in Burley, Idaho working on the family ranch before completing his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University in 1982. He graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1985 and served as a law clerk in the Fifth Judicial District. In his legal career, Mr. Larsen has tried over sixty (60) civil jury trials to verdict as lead counsel. He tried the first ADA case in southeastern Idaho, obtaining a favorable plaintiff's verdict for his client. He is frequently involved in representing his clients in mediation and other forms of ADR, a subject on which he has been invited to lecture by his peers. He has argued appeals before the Idaho Supreme Court, the Idaho Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Larsen has served as President of the Southeast Idaho Claims Association and as the secretary and president of the 6th District Bar Association. He also served as a State Bar Commissioner from 2009 through 2012, representing the Sixth and Seventh Districts. From July 2011 to July 2012 he was the State Bar President. In his off time, he enjoys skiing. His skiing has led to a passion for helicopter skiing in British Columbia. He also enjoys to hunting, fishing, riding horses, and team roping.
