Transforming an Icon

The ASUI–Kibbie Activity Center is a bold and tangible symbol of the University of Idaho’s commitment to providing our students – and our community – with a leading living and learning experience. The Dome greets many prospective students on their first visit to the University during Vandal Friday. It stages many of the most memorable academic, cultural and athletic events during a student’s time at the University. And it is where they walk across the stage at commencement ceremonies prepared to step into the world to join the University’s legacy of leaders.

Our goal with the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center Renovation and Expansion Project is to ensure the Dome continues to resonate with students and alumni as a facility that symbolizes the vitality and leadership associated with the University of Idaho.

Modernizing the iconic structure is planned in two phases:

• First, upgrading life safety features
• Second, improving the game day and event experience for fans and visitors by enhancing natural lighting, upgrading and expanding seating options including creating mini suites and premium seating, improving line-of-sight to the floor, renovating concourse areas, and modernizing media services.
