Step 1

Before you proceed, you will need to make sure you know your NetID username and password.

Also, please note that because of the multiple versions of Android, your icons or descriptions may be slightly different. However, the process is the same across all devices.

Open up you device’s settings menu by finding the settings icon on your home screen on in your list of applications. From the settings menu, scroll to the bottom where your phone’s accounts are listed. Depending on your version of Android, you may need to click the accounts and sync tab to get to these accounts.

Step 2

Find the add account tab and touch it – this will give you a list of account types to add. Depending on your version of Android, select either Corporate or Exchange ActiveSync.

Step 3

Enter your email address and password. Android will attempt to connect but fail — this is to be expected.

Step 4

Several new fields will open up. In the server address field, enter outlook.office365.com. Leave the domain field blank. Check the fields to make sure they are correct. In the username field, enter your full email. Check this server requires an encrypted SSL connection button and hit next.

*NOTE* Some phones may have trouble connecting to the server. If your phone fails to connect to office365.outlook.com, please try and use the server name m.outlook.com.

Step 5

Depending on your version of Android, you will be given an option to sync your contacts, emails, notifications, etc. Select what you want to be synced and proceed by hitting the next button.

Step 6

Your account will be created and syncing will begin. Please note that if you have many email messages in your inbox, it can take upwards of one hour to sync your phone to your desktop inbox.
