Self Help: Resetting your NetID password

Resetting your NetID Password

Learn how to use your Security Profile to reset your password remotely. Please note that you need to have set up a Security Profile for this process to work. If you need assistance in setting up your Security Profile, view the Security Profile Setup tutorial below.

Step 1

In a browser window, navigate to https://help.uidaho.edu/security/reset, the remote password reset page for the University of Idaho. Enter the text verbatim and click continue to move to the next step.

Step 2

You will be taken to a screen where you can search for your account. In the text box, enter either your account name, student or V number or an email address. Press the lookup button to find your account.

A list of verified contacts will come up underneath the field. Select a contact that you have access to and click send code to send a verification code to this email or phone number. If you receive an error message which says, "Account has not been setup for password reset," then please call (208) 885-4357 or visit the Help Desk in TLC 128 with photo ID for assistance

A new field will come up where you can enter the verification code. Find this code your email, text message or voice call and enter the verification code and press continue to continue.

Step 3

A list of your security questions will come up. Enter your answers and click continue to gain access to your account.
