Self-Help: Changing your NetID password

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):

Windows        Macintosh

Overview:

If your NetID password has expired or is about to expire and you remember it, you can use the password reset functionality of the Account Management page to reset your NetID password to a new one. Please note that this will only work if you know your NetID password - if you have forgotten your password, you will need to either do a web password reset or come in to the ITS Help Desk.

Step 1

In a browser window, navigate to the ITS Account Management page at https://help.uidaho.edu and enter your NetID username and password in the prompt. Please note that this prompt will accept your NetID password even if it is expired.

Step 2

You will be logged in to the account management page. If you have not done so yet, you will be prompted to complete a Security Profile. If you are, go through the steps to set it up and you will be taken to the password reset page. Otherwise, simply click the change password button to be taken to the change password page.

Step 3

On the password reset page, you will be given a list of all the account you own and be able to reset your password for them. Select the accounts you want to set a password for.

Step 4

Your security profile is now fully set up. You can use the profile to change your NetID password remotely, or your VandalMail password if you are an alumni/retiree, if you have forgotten it. You can view our security profile password reset view to learn more about the process.
