Management Information Systems
Management Information Systems is responsible for providing technical and functional support for administrative processes through the enterprise database applications. The cornerstone of this suite of applications is the University ERP, Banner. This application provides critical functionality for managing finance, human resource, payroll, student, financial aid, and advancement processes, as well as web access to this information through Vandalweb. ITS/MIS provides the following services related to the University’s enterprise applications.
Business Process Management is responsible for identifying functional requirements and managing priorities for the enterprise applications. This team also evaluates business processes in order to ensure the accuracy of information within the enterprise systems and maximize efficiency.
Database Administration is responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of the databases on which the enterprise applications are hosted. The ITS/MIS database administrators are also responsible for managing access to all enterprise databases.
Enterprise Development is responsible for providing modifications and enhancements for the finance, human resource, accounts receivable and general modules of the Banner application. This team also builds and maintains support applications which interface with these Banner modules.
Web Services provides development services for University web-based applications, website configuration, and domain name setup. The team also offers consulting services for web projects.
