As of summer 2013 VHS players have been removed from TLC classrooms. This is part of our normal repair and replacement cycle for classroom media equipment. VCR removal will continue in the rest of the tech classrooms beginning in Summer 2014.
The Media Center (885-6411) has VCRs available for check out if you need VHS playback in a technology classroom without an installed VHS player.
If you are relying on VHS tape for classroom instruction you may consider moving your materials onto another format. VHS tapes and players are no longer being manufactured and the format is on its last legs. Tapes become degraded and will fail over time. Now is a good time to consider converting your content to a digital format. You may contact the UI Media Center, TLC 131, 885-6411, to assist you with exploring the options for digital conversion.
