Network and Internet Self-Help Tutorials

Connect your Apple/Windows machine to AirVandalGold This tutorial will assist you in connecting your Macbook or Windows Machine to AirVandalGold. Please be sure your laptop is running OSX version 10.7 (Lion) or later.
Connect your Mobile device to AirVandalGold This tutorial will assist you in connecting your Android or iOS device to AirVandalGold.
Connect your device to wired Ethernet on campus This tutorial will guide you in finding your computer's Ethernet MAC address and wallplate ID and connecting your workstation to the wired internet at the University of Idaho.
Finding your MAC Address This tutorial will walk you through how to locate your device’s MAC address. Every device has a unique identifier for its network adapters. This id is called the media access control address, or MAC address.
Networking your office or department printer in Windows Department printers can be accessed by department machines using the TCP/IP protocol connection method. This tutorial will guide you through networking your workstation to a department or office printer in Windows.
Adding a Wireless Networked Printer in OSX Open network printers can be wirelessly networked to your Apple laptop. This tutorial will walk you through the process to set up a wireless connection on your Apple laptop.
Installing a new printer Departments or office printers can be purchased and set up by individual departments, but in order to have the printer be joined to the U of I network and allow workstations to network to the new printer,  ITS must be involved in networking the printer. This tutorial will assist you in gathering the information and resources you need to get your printer networked and ready to access connections.
