Tammi JohnsonCoordinator, International Student, Scholar & Faculty Services
Tammi has over 9 years experience in international education and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of ISSFS and management of information systems containing data on UI international students, scholars and faculty. She advises international students and scholars on immigration matters as well as many other concerns. She also advises departments and faculty on H-1B immigration matters and the UI processes for labor certification applications and immigrant visa petitions. Tammi was born in Moscow, and raised in the state of Washington. She is a Washington State University (WSU) graduate and has settled in the area with her husband and two sons. Tammi appreciates your feedback on ISSFS services and enjoys meeting and serving students, scholars and faculty from around the world. Tammi is available for walk-ins or by appointment.

Taya CarothersAdvisor: International Student, Scholar, and Faculty Services
Taya has a history or supporting international education through multiple study abroad experiences and working with her International Programs Office as a student. She received a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The American University in Washington, D.C., and also a Master of Arts in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the U.N. Mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica. Her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish is from the University of Southern Indiana. Taya primarily advises International Students on immigration, cultural adjustment, and many other personal concerns. She also works to increase International Student involvement on campus through social events organized by ISSFS and as the advisor for the International Student Council student group. Taya was born in Texas and raised in Indiana. She hopes to continually increase her global view by meeting and serving students from around the world.
