What to Expect in Moscow

The Town of Moscow
Moscow is ranked nationally as one of the 100 Best Small Art Towns in America. Moscow is a friendly community of about 20,000 residents. The Moscow population enjoys many of the same conveniences (coffee shops, art galleries, theaters, clubs, bookstores and bike paths) of a much larger community. Nearby, you will also find some of the best (and least crowded) sites for skiing, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, and mountain biking in the region.

Moscow is only eight miles east of Pullman, Washington, home of Washington State University, and just 90 miles away from the resort community of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and the city of Spokane, Washington.

Moscow/Pullman Transportation
There is a free bus route available on weekdays in Moscow. Wheatland Express and Valley Transit also provide commuter services between Moscow, Pullman, Spokane and Lewiston.

Climate
Weather in Moscow varies greatly with four distinct seasons and varied temperatures. Temperatures during the winter range between zero and 40° F. There is considerable rain and snow between November and March. You will need gloves, scarves, sweaters, a heavy coat, and boots during these months. Light clothing is needed during the summer, which tends to be hot (70-100° F) and dry. A light jacket or sweater may be needed for cooler summer night temperatures.
