Faculty members are the heart of a university education - professors teach classes, set curricula, mentor students, and conduct research. The University of Idaho cannot offer our students the quality education they expect and deserve without great faculty. The Malcolm and Carol Renfrew Faculty Fellowship will be used to support professors who, like Malcolm Renfrew, excel at teaching and research and also serve as mentors for their students. The College of Science is fortunate to have many faculty members who are nationally or internationally regarded experts in their fields. The Renfrew Fellowship will help the college to recruit and retain those outstanding faculty members, who are so important to our students. Recipients will hold the fellowship for three-year terms, and will be able to use the fellowship funds to support students working with them, purchase equipment, for travel for research or professional meetings, or supplement salaries.
