VPN for OSX
This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
Access to many UI resources, such as shared drives, Banner, etc., is limited to machines with UI IP addresses. If you are traveling or working from home, you will need to connect to the VPN in order to access these resources. This tutorial will guide you through installing the Cisco VNP client and accessing UI resources when not on the UI campus.
You must have prior permission to run this software. If you are not in the group, you can send a request to the ITS Help Desk (firstname.lastname@example.org) for access. If you have access to download the client, you should be able use it.
Download and mount (double-click) the Cisco-AnyConnect-OSX.dmg. This can be downloaded from https://downloads.uidaho.edu/vpn/any/Cisco-AnyConnect-OSX.dmg. If a verification box appears, type in your UI username and password.
Double-click the vpn.pkg icon.
Continue through the Introduction and Agree to the Software License Agreement (EULA.)
Select Install. You may be prompted at this point for the username and password for your computer.
Once the software has been installed, go to Applications>Cisco and double click Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
Select Connect in the window that appears, select the VandalVPN group (as appropriate).
Enter your UI credentials. You should now be connected to the VPN.
