Connecting to Wifi — Android
This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):
This tutorial will assist you in connecting your machine or device to our wireless network; AirVandalGold. This tutorial is designed for Android mobile devices. Note that steps may vary depending on the specific device.
Connecting your Android mobile device (phone or tablet) is very similar to connecting a laptop or iOS device. Please note that because of the many different flavors of Android, your home screen, icons and menu items may be slightly different, but the steps remain the same across all versions of Android. Before you begin, you will need to know your NetID username and password.
Open up the settings of your device, often located under your applications.
Touch the Wifi networks option to go into the Wireless network menu. Depending on your version of Android, you may need to go through several screens and touch wi-fi settings to get to the list of wireless networks.
Touch the AirVandalGold network to bring up the Wireless setup window.
On this screen, make sure your EAP method is set to PEAP and your Phase 2 Authentication is set to MSCHAPV2. Enter your NetID username in the identity field and your password in the password field. Leave the Anonymous identity blank.
Your android device will be registered to your account behind the scene. Give the device a few moments and it should automatically connect to the AirVandalGold network.
