Student Computing Labs
Welcome to Student Computing Labs
The University of Idaho Student Computing Labs are a student-funded system designed to meet the general computing needs of University of Idaho students. ITS Student Computing Labs operated under the direction of the Student Computing Advisory Committee to meet you student computing needs.
We manage more than 15 computing labs on campus in places such as the first and fourth floor of the library, the basement of the Pitman Center (Student Union Building), and in both Wallace and Theophilus Tower residence halls, as well as a 23-hour lab. With nearly 500 computers spread across thirteen different buildings on campus, students are bound to find the lab and computer that needs their academic needs.

The Student Computing Advisory Committee (SCAC) provides direction and oversight and Information Technology Services maintains and manages the computing services provided to students.
ITS manages over 15 student computing labs on campus, including a 23 hour lab in the Administration Building. With approximately 500 computers, some of which are available practically 24 hours a day, students are bound to find the lab and computer that fit their academic needs.
Student Labs also offers more than 50 programs installed on each Windows lab machine and more than 30 programs installed on each Mac lab machine. Chances are, ITS has the program you’re looking for. But, in the rare instance we don’t offer a program that you need for a class, just ask! While results may not be immediate, if students of a particular major or class ask a faculty member to submit the Software Installation Request Form, ITS will work hard to make sure students have the software they need to succeed.
As a student, you can also request after-hours access to labs on campus open past normal building hours, such as the 23 hour Administration Building Lab as well as the Pitman Center (SUB) Lab. Send an email to email@example.com from your student @vandals.uidaho.edu account, and let us know why you need access. It may take up to two days to process your request. After that, the next time you need access to that lab, simply swipe your Vandal card at the doors and your after hours access will allow you entry.
