Information Literacy for the Library Media Specialist

Course Description

LibS 426 Information Literacy for the Library Media Specialist (3 UI). Explores the role of the Library Media Specialist (LMS) in providing information literacy instruction. Defines information literacy, as well as places it in a national, state, and local framework. Research process as it correlates with information literacy is covered in great detail.

Students will need to be working as a librarian or teacher or be able to interview a librarian. Also required: computer with MS PowerPoint, access to Internet and UI Library's database (see instructions in study guide).
