| Richard Register will survey the basic principles for ecological healthy design of cities, towns and villages with examples from around the world. The author of “Ecocities – Rebuilding Cities in Balance with Nature” he has lectured in 29 countries, visiting all continents but Antarctica and brings back photographs and descriptions to worry and inspire. This flammable mixture of problems and imaginative solutions, he hopes, will ignite the imagination and begin an all-out rethinking and rebuilding of cities for people, not cars – and make available many tools fit to that task. What solutions can’t be photographed because they don’t exist yet he draws in pen and colored pencils and projects in a PowerPoint slide show to be long remembered. |
