STAFF FEATUREPeg Godwin Ends Her Vandal Chapter at the Bookstore
After nearly two decades of managing the University of Idaho Bookstore, longtime University of Idaho employee Peg Godwin will retire July 1. A reception in her honor takes place Wednesday, June 24 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bookstore.
Peg has served the Bookstore in various capacities for more than 30 years. Beginning her career in 1976 as a cashier, she subsequently served as assistant manager for books, and eventually accepted the position of manager, in which she has served for 18 years.
Peg was involved in the construction of and move to the Bookstore’s current location in 1989, and also served as the interim director of Auxiliary Services in 2007. To put her service achievements in perspective, more than 50,000 students have been awarded degrees at the University of Idaho during Peg’s time with the Bookstore.
Peg will relocate to Bellingham, Wash., to manage the Western Washington Associated Student’s Bookstore. She will continue to serve on the National Association of College Store’s board as the Trustee for the West.
Peg has been actively engaged at the University as an employee, student and parent of two graduates Genny ‘05 and Megan ‘07.
“I am proud of my contributions to the University of Idaho and look forward to working at Western Washington University,” said Peg. “Although I’m not a University of Idaho graduate, I will always be a Vandal.”
