Palouse Prairie Restoration
As part of our outreach and educational goals, the herbarium has been involved in Palouse Prairie Restoration activities on the University of Idaho campus working with the university’s sustainability program. With less than 1% remaining, the Palouse Prairie ecosystem is one of the most threatened and endangered ecosystems in our area – primarily due to land use changes over the past 150 years. Using data from our collections, the Herbarium’s Collections Manager, Pam Brunsfeld, compiled the following list to assist in the Palouse Prairie restoration activities on campus.
