Herbarium Forays
Throughout the year, the Stillinger Herbarium leads collecting expeditions that primarily target areas that are historically underrepresented in our collection, as well as in other herbaria in the region.

- Update and expand collections in the Stilinger Herbarium.
- Collect specimens to be used in our exchange program with other herbaria.
- Provide field experience in collections based research to students and volunteers.
- Build a sense of community around the Stillinger Herbarium.
Collecting forays are followed by curatorial efforts during the fall and winter when foray participants, herbarium staff, and volunteers identify the plant specimens, enter collection data into our database, and produce collection labels.
