NationalRose McGill Fund: No Kappa sister should suffer in times of financial distress. The Rose McGill Fund was established in 1922 to help deserving Kappa’s who find themselves in financial distress due to an illness or misfortune. The University of Idaho, Beta Kappa chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma helps this national philanthropy by doing a carwash in September. Also half of our earning from the Mom’s Weekend Fun Run goes toward this philanthropy. In the 2000-2002 biennium $545,140 was provided to Kappa’s of all ages in need. |

Beta KappaKappas Konnect: This Philanthropy, held in October, allows Kappa’s to branch into the community. This all-day event allows Kappa’s to volunteer their time in things they are passionate about. Some of the locations include the Moscow Food Bank, local Nursing Homes and the Animal Shelter. Kappa Kristmas: During the holiday season our house “adopts” a Kappa alumnus. We take the needy Kappa under our wing and help her though the season. The Kappa gives us a list of things that she needs and as Kore Families we break up the list and provide her with anything she may need during the season of giving. Mom's Weekend Fun Run: A committee of girls in our house began this philanthropy in conjunction with the University of Idaho Women's Center. The run is on Mom's Weekend and tours across the campus, allowing parents and families to watch. The money raised by this event through the entrance fees benefits the Women's Center. Kappa’s help organize the event, with volunteers Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity. Work includes manning different water stations; help with set up, mailing fliers, and participating in the 5k run. |

AKL/Kappa Food Drive: This is a local philanthropy where groups comprised of Kappa’s and boys from the Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity are sent out into the community to collect food. The groups are given about an hour to collect as much food as they can from the community of Moscow. When the allotted time is up the groups report back to the Kappa house for dinner. All the food collected is donated to the Troy Food Bank, a small rural community near Moscow. We also participate in the AKL's annual camp-out in a local parking lot to help collect more food from the community. |
