Civil engineers solve problems. We create structures for shelter, deliver safe and reliable drinking water, and design complex systems to ease traffic congestion.
Civil engineering was a natural choice for me. Even from a very young age, I knew I was very good at math. I love solving math based problems like how skyscrapers can be stable with all the weight they bear or how water is delivered to people and where it comes from.
The College of Engineering offers me many opportunities to learn both in and out of the classroom. I have helped conduct cutting edge research on the effects of superhydrophobic surfaces on drag reduction, helped other civil engineering students by tutoring with our Engineering Scholars group, and practiced leadership through my position as the vice president of the University of Idaho, American Society of Civil Engineers.
It is because of you that the University of Idaho continuously produces excellent civil engineers. The money you donate helps keep the labs supplied with technology that will be used in practice. The scholarships you support make it possible for students like me to focus on our passion for civil engineering. Thank you.
Please take a moment to continue your tradition of supporting students.
