“A complete Gamma Phi Beta woman is prepared to be a leader, believes
in philanthropy and helping young girls, is committed to personal
academic excellence and values her lifelong membership in Gamma Phi
Beta.”
- Gamma Phi
Beta prides itself on academic excellence. At Xi Chapter, our average house
GPA is consistently above the University of Idaho’s all on-campus
women average and the all sorority average. Our chatper has been first in
grades the past two semesters. In Spring 2005, we earned the honor of the
highest sorority average GPA with a 3.46. In Fall 2004, we earned a 3.42.
- Our house
academic program is called FISH, standing for Flexible Independent Study
Hours. The program allows women to study in a variety of places, including
the house, the library, and Starbucks, at a variety of times, from early
morning to late night. Women are proctored by members of the Executive Board
and turn in their logged hours each week to the Scholarship Chair. Members
are awarded for good study behavior and regular class attendance at the
end of the semester through ice cream outings and scholarship dinners.
- A main
event of the spring semester is our Carnation Banquet. Women invite professors
to the house for a formal dinner where members are recognized for their
academic achievement.
