Important Dates and Deadlines

January
 

First date to file FAFSA for the following academic year

February 15
 

Priority date for submitting application for admission and supporting documentation for new first year and transfer students. Admission applications should be submitted by this date to receive priority consideration for merit-based scholarships. 
FAFSA priority date for new freshmen and continuing students.
Funding for some programs including federal grants and loans will continue to be available for late applications received after February 15.

Award notifications begin for new students
Watch your VandalMail for notification and login to VandalWeb to review, accept or decline your financial aid awards

Summer Session Financial Aid Applications Available On-Line

Accept financial aid awards
New students accepting Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Stafford Loans should sign a Master Promissory Note and complete the Entrance Counseling process online

Perkins Promissory Notes will be sent with billing statements in July.

If a Parent PLUS loan is accepted, parent should complete an application and if approved, sign a Master Promissory Note online. Student and parent will be notified of application results.

Mid-July
  **University billing statements are sent to registered students for the fall semester.
Statements will reflect accepted financial aid awards including loans if promissory notes have been signed.
Early August
 

Students and families should review finances to make sure tuition & fees, room & board and book expenses are covered.

Financial Aid Advisors are available to assist students and families in determining options. 

Mid-August
 

Awards should be accepted and promissory notes signed for funds to be disbursed by the first day of school.

First-time recipients of a Work-Study award, plan to attend a Work-Study Orientation.  Bring your Social Security Card.  Previous recipients may pick up job referrals in our office.
                               
The first direct deposit of residual funds will be sent to banks by the first day of the fall semester.

December
 

Accept any remaining financial aid awards if necessary
