Recycling
The Recycling/Surplus/Solid Waste division has the responsibility of managing the Recycling, Campus Surplus, and Solid Waste programs of the university. The recycling group makes 500 stops each week collecting recyclables from offices, dormitories, and other campus areas. We recycle over 240 tons/year and processes over 260 tons of solid waste each year. A total of 1500 tons of solid waste is removed yearly from campus. Surplus personnel collect, sell, and dispose of over 5000 items per year, which departments no longer have need of. This divisions continued efforts in providing cost effective service while using new methods and opportunities to reduce our waste stream positively impacts everyone at the University of Idaho.
