Nancy currently serves as an area 4-h youth development Extension educator in the University of Idaho Extension, Southern District with 50% state and 50% district responsibility. In this position she has lead teams of faculty and 4-H program coordinators to design, develop, introduce and implement programs for New 4-H Volunteer Orientation and innovative program delivery for youth called 4-H Outside the Box. She has also provided leadership of 4-H orientation and on-boarding for new 4-H faculty and staff statewide, and promotes Positive Youth Development in all aspects of youth programming statewide. She is a 4-H Thriving Model Champion and provides professional development on the Thriving Model.

In this position she has developed the statewide 4-H Outside the Box program, connected with community organizations, worked on a multistate youth retention research project, collaborated with faculty to write the 4-H Dutch Oven curriculum and provided leadership to develop teams for the Idaho Build Your Future program and to develop 20 4-H staff development modules. She has contributed to writing activities for the National 4-H Thriving Model professional development team, National 4-H/NASA curriculum and supports county 4-H programs in the southern district. In 2021-2023, Nancy served on the National Board of Trustees of the National Association of 4-H Youth Development Professionals as Vice President of Member Services and in 2017-2019, she served as a Western Region director and chair of State Relations in 2018-2019. She also served as the operations committee chair for the national 2020 NAE4-HYDP virtual conference.

Previous to her current position, Nancy served as the 4-H Extension educator in Canyon County, one of Idaho's largest 4-H programs. Her strengths in this position included her ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, 4-H volunteers and youth. She effectively recognized needs in the community and led teams to develop programs to fulfill those needs including day camp and afterschool programs for youth, and reinventing an annual teen program in partnership with county teen ambassadors.

Nancy began her career with the University of Idaho Extension in 1999 in a 4-H program coordinator position contributing to the successes of the Ada County 4-H program prior to her faculty position in UI Extension, Canyon County.
