Nursery and Christmas Tree Production
This program team consists of Jen Jensen at UIdaho Extension in Boundary County and Mike Bauer at UIdaho Extension in Bonner County. Together they assist tree growers in north Idaho.
Ornamental Nursery Workshop
The workshop takes place each February, with timely and relevant topics being presented by industry professionals and educators. Normally, the program is on Subjects in the one-day workshop have typically offered subjects on risk management, pest management and marketing. The workshop is sponsored by the Kootenai Valley Nursery Growers, the Idaho Nursery and Landscape Association.
Subalpine and Corkbark Fir Trials
From 1999 to 2006, Dr Dan Barney was Principal Investigator of a study on the growth and development of subalpine and corkbark fir (Abies lasiocarpa) at the Sandpoint Research and Extension Center in North Idaho. The study selected seed from various areas in Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Work on identifying outstanding selections is continuing. Learn more
