4-H Youth Development
The 4-H youth development program supports youth with life skills and helps develop future leaders. The program reaches youth ages 5 to 18 with different ability levels with projects developed by University of Idaho Extension and other land-grant universities.
Cloverbuds
Cloverbuds is a noncompetitive educational program for youth ages 5 to 7 designed to introduce young children to 4-H in a fun, noncompetitive way. Cloverbuds may not participate in large animal, ATV or shooting sports projects.
Cloverbuds attend club meetings/functions and use county or state publications. Children enrolled in the 4-H Cloverbud Program cannot display or sell animals at fair. They are not required to complete or exhibit their book. A club display of Cloverbud books at the fair is acceptable; however, the books are not judged.

4-H Projects
A project is a topic that you can explore. You’ll learn life skills such as understanding yourself, communicating and working with others and problem solving and decision making skills that you will use for the rest of your life.

Lincoln County 4-H Teen Association
This group of teens enjoy activities and projects. Interstate Exchanges is a project as one of their main events.
Eligibility
4-H recognizes the age of the individual on January 1 of the current 4-H year. Eligibility established on January 1 will remain in effect for the entire 4-H year, which runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
4-H members ages 8 to 18 years are eligible to participate in all programs offered by 4-H, including competitive activities/events. Individuals older than 18 years of age who have special needs are eligible to participate in 4-H, provided they are enrolled in high school.
Fees are paid to the UI Extension, Lincoln County office and cover state fees, insurance and county fees.
- Non-horse projects: $15
- Horse projects: $16
If a family has more than three youth participating, the fees are $10 per youth after the initial $45.
