4-H Robotics

WeDo Robotics (ages 5-10)

This series of activities introduces younger children to the world of robotics through the use of the Lego WeDo Robotics systems. Activities can be done individually or in small teams of 2-3. Contact University of Idaho Extension Robotics for more information.

Robotics Platforms (ages 9-14)

Youth use a commercial robotics kit (such as MindStorms NXT or VEX) to learn about the various uses of robotics systems. The curriculum has 11 modules (on DVD) and includes a Robotics notebook. Activities can be done individually or in small teams of 2-3.

Virtual Robotics (ages 9-14)

The Virtual Robotics track makes learning convenient and economical! Participants will learn basic science and robotics concepts online through meaningful and engaging mediums including videos, simulations, animations and more. The Robotics Notebook for this track will be a real-world notebook in which students record their designs and respond to questions as they work and learn in the virtual environment.

Junk Drawer Robotics (ages 10-18)

This curriculum challenges youth to build robots out of everyday household items. The curriculum comes with three books and several great free downloads. Activities can be done individually or in small teams of 2-3.
