Theatre Arts
The theatre arts projects include something for everyone seeking imagination in action. In Play the Role you will warm up your body and your voice, develop focus and concentration, work as part of an ensemble, practice articulation and breath control, learn voice tone, create physical characters through movement, improvise, become a clown, write and perform a monolog, and create music. In Becoming a Puppeteer, you will learn that puppets are found in almost every culture. Make sock, rod, and found object puppets; explore light and shadow in puppetry; build a theater or stage, and write and perform a puppet show.
In Setting the Stage, you will use costume pieces to create a character. Design costumes, build sets and set models, design and apply makeup, collect hand and set props, create sound effects and musical sounds, light a model set, select a script and determine sound and lighting cues, create a play promptbook.
