Know Your Government Conference

The Know Your Government Conference, held each Presidents' Day weekend in Boise while the legislature is in session, is designed for students in grades 8-9 to:

• Learn how the state government decision-making process works
• Learn how teens can participate politically to influence state government
• Learn how the state judicial system works
• Learn what is involved in bringing a case to court
• Observe the Legislative process in action
• Meet and share ideas with legislators, judges and other elected officials
• Have breakfast with legislators and judges
• Meet teens from around the state

Know Your Government is both a conference and a 4-H project. For details on the KYG projects, check the project web page.

Applications may be downloaded from this website, but must be submitted to your county extension office. The registration fee is $95 and must be paid to your county. The registration fee includes lodging and all but two meals at the conference.
