Why should you be involved?
ASCE Members at the University of Idaho benefit from opportunities to:
- Network with other civil engineering students and faculty
- Learn more about civil engineering as a major and career
- Gain valuable resume building experiences that will position you for success after graduation.
Members participate in many activities including the National Student Steel Bridge Competition, National Concrete Canoe Competition, surveying, technical paper competitions, and much more.
Our chapter was chartered in 1926 and was one of the earliest ASCE student chapters. Civil engineering has always been a mainstay at the University of Idaho, with two of the first four graduates receiving degrees in civil engineering.
ASCE Student Leadership:
4th year Civil Engineering Student
3rd year Civil Engineering Student
"I loved the sound of the competitions ASCE was involved in, and wanted to meet more people in my major. After participating last year, I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to be a leader, and I hope to be Concrete Canoe captain next year."
The U-Idaho Student Chapter is a member of the ASCE Pacific Northwest Region, which includes schools from Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Canada.
