The Engineering Outreach (EO) program delivers nine complete graduate degree programs and 10 academic certificates in a variety of technical areas. The program was established in 1973 to serve the graduate and professional education needs of engineers and others in technical areas. The EO program is critical to the outreach mission of the University of Idaho in general and the College of Engineering in particular for a number of reasons, including:
- 70-80 continually updated courses are delivered by EO each semester
- 35% of UI CoEng graduate students are enrolled through the EO program
- 23% of all CoEng graduate credit hours are delivered by EO
- 94% of all EO students complete the courses in which they are enrolled
Finally, Engineering Outreach is the first program of its kind in the world to provide all courses in a proprietary high resolution online format pioneered over the past three years with Princeton University’s Server Group. All EO courses are currently available in this advanced format.
