Barry Willis is the associate dean for outreach in the College of Engineering. In this role he serves as leader of the college’s Engineering Outreach program, and as a professor in the Engineering Management program teaching graduate courses in leadership and organizational behavior. Prior to his current assignment Dr. Willis served as the University of Idaho’s associate provost and associate vice president for Educational Outreach. Prior to moving to Idaho in 1993, Willis served as the University of Alaska’s statewide director of distance education, associate vice chancellor for distance education/academic planning, and director of instructional development. Willis has previously taught for Boston University, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and Utah State University. He has authored two textbooks in the area of distance education, and from 2000-2010 served on the science advisory board of the United States Antarctic program.
