What you will see:

Concepts - Teams will share their final design ideas and next steps towards meeting their client's needs.

Prototypes -
Teams will show off their tried and true prototypes - with evidence to support their design decisions!

Processes -
Every step is a learning experience. Teams will describe how they manage each aspect of their project including client relationships and design process.

Presentations - Second semester teams will deliver technical presentations describing the development of the problem, their path through conceptual design, and the details of their final design.

EXPO Snapshot

Snapshot is a sneak-peek at the College of Engineering’s 2010-11 senior design projects, and is the first chance for the public to see projects designed for NASA, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratory, the Office of Naval Research, Idaho National Lab, Power Engineers and other government agencies, non-profit organizations and regional industries on December 3 at our open house in the Gauss Johnson Building on campus any time between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

The University’s Capstone program was created to increase industry and university collaboration, to introduce students to the best practices for design and manufacturing, and to help students grow professionally in teamwork, communication and project management skills. The involvement of graduate student mentors and the interdisciplinary scope of the university’s program are distinctive. The design program culminates in Engineering EXPO, a day-long showcase of the Capstone design projects.

Students in the program come from agricultural engineering, biological engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, materials science and mechanical engineering.
