Research Highlights

Three ECE students are recent recipients of the Idaho Alumni Award for Excellence.

The Moscow High School balloon program (dual enrollment in ENGR 204) enrolled 8 students. The flight in April that reached about 90,000 feet.
Aicha Elshabini  is serving the faculty advisor role of IMAPS student chapter at U-Idaho. She is also the educational core committee chair in North America, as well as one of the northwestern regional directors in North America for the International Microelectronics And Electronic Packaging Society (IMAPS).
Four ECE students were awarded summer internships through the Idaho Space Grant.
Two ECE graduate students received NASA Idaho Space Grant Fellowships. These same two students have been awarded some money from the NASA Steckler Grant and have summer internships at Boeing in Seattle.
Two of our students have received scholarships to attend and present posters at the 8th International Planetary Probe Workshop in Portsmouth, Virginia in June 2011.
Richard Wells   has been appointed to serve on a National Science Foundation panel for the Science Masters Program, which is one of the initiatives in President Obama's ARRA Stimulus funding bill.
Installation of a new Smart Signals Technology design for accessible pedestrian signals at a public intersection in a suburb of St. Paul, MN. The Smart Signals research team and their adviser Richard Wall, who were responsible for the development of this new system, were on hand to observe Minnesota Department of Transportation technicians install their systems at two intersections.
