How to Support CE You may pledge your support of the Civil Engineering program at the University of Idaho by contributing to the following funds: Development Fund The Development Fund supports student activities such as field trips, Traffic Bowl competitions with other schools, and the ASCE Student Chapter and their participation in the canoe and steel bridge competitions. This fund supports faculty in supplementing state dollars to upgrade and modernize teaching skills, as well as travel to seminars and workshops to bring new ideas into the classroom. Faculty Endowment Fund Interest received from the Faculty Endowment Fund supports faculty members who wish to modernize the technical content of their courses by spending time in private industry or at one of the major research labs in the country. This type of activity must be planned well in advance and requires a secure base of support in order to make long range commitments. Alumni Scholarship Fund Contributions to the Alumni Scholarship Fund are placed in an interest bearing account, and the interest income is used to provide scholarships to our students. With the cost of education rising sharply, scholarships are extremely helpful in keeping our students in school.
